Your Invisalign® Doctor in Augusta, KS

Do you have crooked teeth, noticeable gaps in your smile, or a misaligned bite? If you find traditional wire braces unsightly, consider Invisalign® braces as an alternative. Invisalign® braces in Augusta, KS, offer a discreet, clear option for achieving straight teeth. This treatment uses a custom-made series of invisible aligners to correct severe gaps and misalignments in a shorter period than traditional braces. The best part? They’re almost undetectable!

Invisalign® is also fully removable, allowing you to eat whatever you want and maintain regular brushing and flossing without the hassle of cleaning around braces. The aligners are custom-made using models of your current teeth and the desired result. You’ll switch to new aligners every two weeks, with each set shifting your teeth slightly until you achieve your final results, which usually takes about two years.

If you’re curious about what issues Invisalign® can fix or are ready to start your journey to straighter teeth, please contact our office today!

  • How does the Invisalign® process work?

To start the Invisalign® process, we will first take photographs of your teeth and face, dental impressions of your teeth, and X-rays. Then, we will send those records to Invisalign® along with detailed instructions about how we want the final result to appear.

Invisalign® will scan the impressions to create a 3D model of your teeth and work with your dentist to ensure the mold is proportioned perfectly. This step is done before the treatment begins to give you an accurate idea of the expected outcome.

Once the molds are finalized, we will create and mail the trays to your dentist’s office. Each set of aligners in the series must be worn continuously for about two weeks and should only be removed when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. During the treatment, you must visit your dentist every four to six weeks to ensure the progress is going according to plan.

The treatment will be complete once you have worn all the sets of aligners in the series. Typically, the standard treatment time, which depends on the case’s complexity, is six months to one year. However, wearing a retainer after the treatment is recommended to prevent your teeth from returning to their original positions. The time you will need to wear the retainer will vary, but it is similar to braces.

  • Invisalign® vs. braces - what's the difference?

Invisalign and braces are two different teeth straightening methods. Invisalign uses clear transparent aligners, while braces use wires and brackets. The user can remove Invisalign aligners anytime, while a professional can only remove braces. Invisalign allows users to eat whatever they like and not make changes to their oral care practices, while braces restrict what the user can safely eat and require special maintenance and care. Invisalign aligners do not present injury risks, while braces can lead to cuts and other injuries. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, while braces are easily noticeable. Ultimately, deciding which method to choose is up to the individual. However, introducing Invisalign has provided a more efficient and less painful way to straighten teeth.

  • Who can use Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is suitable for teenagers and adults who require mild to moderate orthodontic corrections. This includes patients with crooked, misaligned teeth or noticeable spacing problems. Patients with minor bite issues can also benefit from Invisalign®, but it’s important to note that not all orthodontic problems can be treated with Invisalign®. More complex issues will require additional treatment.
